CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol. CBD is associated with the positive therapeutic properties of cannabis, and none of the more negative properties that can cause intoxicating or psychoactive effects. Our bodies already produce cannabinoids, which are collectively called endocannabinoids (endo meaning ‘within’). Whereas cannabinoids obtained from Hemp are phytocannabinoids (phyto meaning ‘from plant’). The highest concentration of CBD can be found in the plant Cannabis Sativa, which contains over 113 different types of phytocannabinoids, or plant-based cannabinoids.
There has been much written about the benefits of CBD. One of the most positive effects is its ability to act on the body’s endocannabinoid system. The ECS is an incredible network of tiny receptors found throughout the body that play a crucial role in mental and physical wellbeing. The endocannabinoid system self-regulates to changes inside and outside of the body to achieve biological tranquillity – “homeostasis”. When your ECS is back in balance, you may feel stronger inside and out – less stressed, more able to cope, physically stronger. In regulating the body’s optimal balance, we can have a better chance of fighting many daily mind and body battles including our sleep, stress, anxiety, immune system, pain and inflammation. The most common reasons cited by consumer for incorporating CBD into a daily diet are helping with sleeping problems, balancing anxiety, and combatting chronic pain. CBD is not a replacement for medicine, but if you feel your system could benefit from a daily reset then it is definitely worthy of your attention.
Mee CBD can simply be used as a part of daily wellbeing, a gentle way to reset our ECS and bring us back to balance. However, CBD is also used across the world for a huge variety of physical and mental conditions, including: anxiety, insomnia, arthritis, chronic pain, MS, depression, psoriasis, Parkinson’s, PTSD and many others. Whilst it is never a replacement for medical treatment, there is a wealth of research to demonstrate the power of this incredible plant. Please always consult your medical professional with any questions or concerns.
No – CBD is non-psychoactive, unlike the cannabinoid THC (delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol). Consuming CBD will not create a “high” or induce intoxicating effects. In fact, because CBD has anti-psychotic properties it’s impossible to consume enough to create a high.
There are many wonderful CBD products on the market, largely oils and usually blended to address specific needs eg sleep aids / muscular pain / relaxation etc. However, we have developed Mee CBD specifically to be the easiest, fuss-free way of adding CBD to your daily diet – whatever physical or mental challenge the day holds! The taste of Mee CBD is far milder than standard CBD oils and is an organic, vegan, non-GMO formulation.
In powder or drops form, Mee CBD formulation is up to 9X more effective than standard CBD oils – so, you may feel the impact more vividly. This is just the CBD doing its work, but you can always adjust the dose downwards to a level that feels comfortable for you – just a pinch in a drink may be enough on some days, on others you will wish to enjoy a fuller dose.
This is really up to you, and whatever best fits with your lifestyle – some people enjoy Mee CBD Drops for a quick reset, others add Mee Daily religiously every morning to their breakfast. At Mee HQ we tend to take ours in the morning, mixed in with a smoothie or a juice. However, during times of sleeping problems we have opted to take a night-time dose in a herbal tea instead. Similarly, our Mee Sachets have proved very handy to have in the bag for a slight nervous moment or stressful journey. You should not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose of 70mg, and we find that anything between 10mg – 30mg a day is about right.
There have been no cases of negative side effects involving human consumption and controlled application of CBD. When you first introduce Mee CBD we always recommend starting with a lower dose, and then building up as needed; some people need to introduce it very mildly into the system, for others a stronger dose carries more impact. As with any new health regime, if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are on any medication then please consult your doctor beforehand.
