Hot chocolate is always a comforting way to take the edge off a darkening season; with a pinch of soluble CBD it promises even more nourishment for aching bones or stressed systems. Try this spicy recipe to add a little kick – serve with a good book and an evening’s peace, or with good friends and warming conversation!

INGREDIENTS

150ml almond milk (or you could use whole milk if you want dairy)

150g dark chocolate, 70 per cent cocoa solids, grated

4tbsp cocoa powder

4tbsp dark brown sugar

1tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of ground nutmeg, pinch of ground ginger, pinch of ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon of ancho chilli flakes (optional)

1vanilla pod

2 level teaspoons of Mee CBD powder (adjust quantities as desired)

TO MAKE THE HOT CHOCOLATE:

Step 1

Melt the grated dark chocolate and add in all the ingredients apart from the Mee CBD powder.

Step 2

Heat 150ml milk and bring to the boil.

Step 3

Place 3tbsp of the hot chocolate mix in a mug and pour over about 2-3tbsp of the hot milk. Stir until smooth, then pour in the remaining milk. Add the Mee CBD powder and stir.

Step 3

Add the vanilla pod, leave for a few minutes to infuse, then stir and serve.
