You may not think it, but we’re big fans of the Biebers. And it’s not because of Justin’s music. Instead, it’s because Hailey and her husband are leaders in the health and wellness space – something we take very seriously at Mee CBD. One great example is the Hailey Bieber smoothie that went viral on TikTok recently. So much so, we’ve created our own collagen smoothie recipe that is great for skin care and also contains Mee, making it a great CBD drink.

However, in typical Los Angeles style, the Hailey Bieber smoothie contains some pretty outlandish and hard-to-find ingredients. Any chance you have sea moss gel in your fridge? Hyaluronic acid in your cupboard? Yeah – us neither.

Not to worry. We’ve come up a collagen smoothie recipe you can make at home (with regular ingredients) to get the full experience. It’s really simple and cheap, so no need to take a shortcut with a Naked Smoothie. Plus, we’ve done the research to enhance its skin-boosting benefits of other ingredients. But before we launch into our Hailey Bieber smoothie recipe with CBD, let’s talk about about the benefits of collagen smoothies.

Collagen Smoothie Benefits

You’re probably wondering, what is collagen? Well, for starters, it’s the most prevalent protein in a human body. It is found everywhere: the tendons, muscles and the bones. It provides strength and structure within the body, especially as it acts as a key component in connective tissue and holds the body’s cells closely together. That’s why many doctors use it in wound-healing procedures. In fact, some research suggests that one-third of protein in our bodies consists of collagen.

However, collagen is very important for one part of our bodies in particular. The skin. Collagen is what provides its strength and elasticity. Often, as people get older, their collagen levels decrease and their collagen fibres become thinner and weaker.

In order to boost collagen levels in our skin, its important to take more. Many skin products include collagen while some ingredients we eat boost collagen levels too. The Hailey Bieber smoothie is a perfect example.

Making your own collagen smoothie certainly has more benefits – especially for your skincare routine – than in premade smoothies, for example. We love Naked Smoothie, but in terms of collagen, they just don’t quite cut it.

What Boosts the Effects of Collagen?

We worked it out. Our collagen smoothie, based off the Hailey Bieber smoothie, of course, only uses ingredients that are known to enhance skin health and boost collagen production.

Well, firstly, we picked strawberries because they are known for their high levels of vitamin C. That’s an essential co-factor to aid with boosting collagen.

We also replaced the almond milk from the Hailey Bieber smoothie with soya milk and added in a squeeze of lime juice. These are both natural food-sources of hyaluronic acid, so you won’t need to spend the big bucks on weird Los Angeles ingredients like Hailey.

We also popped some avocado in. The oils in the avocado means this collagen smoothie has more vitamin E and potassium that help plump your skin from within.

And that’s the beauty of it. Mee’s Hailey Bieber smoothie adaptation is cheaper than Naked Smoothies, its easier and more accessible than her own version, while still being beneficial for your skin. So, without further ado, here’s our collagen smoothie – your next skincare essential. Don’t forget to blitz your blender and add Mee CBD!
